My Yonipp Review: Is it a good freelancing platform?

So you’re curious about Yonipp.  I bet you’re a writer who wants to earn extra cash in the comfort of your home, right? Me too!

Recently, I decided to do freelance works to earn additional cash, so I looked up for writing platforms on the web. Upon browsing and signing up one after another, I stumbled on a site called Yonipp.com.

There are two choices for interested folks upon signing up in Yonipp – either you sign up as a niche writer or a client. Obviously, I chose to be a niche writer. As I explore, I observed a few things which I want to discuss with you today.

Is it worth it? To answer that, I have listed a few pros and cons from what I experienced upon joining Yonipp. Here we go.

Pros

1. Non-complex Interface

Yonipp takes a grape-and-vine theme which I find amusing. They use terminologies to associate with their theme -such as identifying writer levels as fresh pick(beginner), semi-ripe(intermediate), and ready-to-eat(expert level). Guides were witty and engaging to read –far from the boring and too formal instructions I have read from other freelancing sites.

Also, if you’re a technology noob but want to do online freelance writing, Yonipp would be a perfect start. The interface is simple and the instructions from creating an account to landing on a project are far from complicated. Plus, they have a chat support that would instantly direct the answers to your questions.

2. Core niche

Yonipp encourages writers to have a core niche. There’s nothing wrong in writing for multiple niches, but focusing on a core niche could step up your game. Nowadays, clients prefer writers that are experts on what they write than a writer who has zero background. This would benefit writers as they acquire authority on their niche and gather more clients.

3. Deals made easy

When placing a deal, Yonipp has a feature where you can respond to the following:

  • Preferred service fee. It can be different from what your client initially offers
  • Your time of delivery – at least 24 hours or more for the turnaround time, depends on you
  • Pitches, impress them!
  • and a short sample just to let your clients see how you write

You’ll be soon notified if you are accepted for the job. From my experience, it took a matter of 2 hours to be accepted on a project and I am glad that’s all it took to land on a project.

Cons

1. The Grape Juice

In Yonipp, Grape Juice is like a token that represents a limit to how many jobs you can apply for. Placing a deal on a job would cost you 1 Grape Juice. By default, Yonipp gives the writers 50 Grape Juices monthly. This would be a disadvantage for fast writers who can do multiple projects at a time. On the other hand, it prevents immense deals from writers who can’t commit.

2. Project-based platform

Clients post projects, but not fulltime jobs. So, once a project is completed, you have to move on and look for another project to work on. If you prefer a full-time job, I suggest that you check on other freelancing platforms.

Nonetheless, this arrangement would be flexible for freelancers that have day jobs like me.

Verdict

I believe Yonipp is a fun and convenient freelancing site. It’s more than easy to explore, fees are negotiable, and core niches are highlighted. As for the disadvantages, I have high hopes for developments to accommodate these issues.

Overall, I am happy to rate Yonipp a 4 out of 5 based on my personal experiences. So, there you go. I hope the list helps!
