Top 5: Sea of Monsters
This American fantasy novel was written by Rick Riordan. It is about the modernized lifestyle of gods, goddesses, demigods, and half-bloods. Just imagine Poseidon in his beach outfit!
The main protagonist is named Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon. It revolves around quests and prophecies to be fulfilled by the children of the Big Three: Zeus, Poseidon, Hades. This actually is a children's book, but it can keep you reading even when it's past your bedtime.
Sea of Monsters is the second book from Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians 5-book series. Oh, of course, you have to read the first book, The Lightning Thief, to fully understand what's happening here. But, I tell you, I read it three times because I can't get enough of it. Gods and goddesses in the present time? Driving taxis, running delivery companies? Oh, come on! This is a must-read. Percy's character is well-written. You would definitely love the other characters, too!
Hunger Games is a novel by Suzanne Collins, which happened in a post apocalyptic setting in the country called Panem (currently America). The protagonist is named Katniss Everdeen, a 16-year-old girl who lives in District 12.
According to the story, the Hunger Games is conducted to become a memoir to those people who rebelled against the Capitol. It signifies that rebellion will not prevail against such government. Here, two tributes, a male and a female, from every district shall fight in a death match. The game will end when one tribute remains. He shall be called the victor and shall receive limitless privileges like a house, money, and fame. Name it and it shall be provided by the Capitol.
The Game is on live telecast being watched by all ofPanem . It is more than being just alive, it is about how to be liked by people. When you look good to them, they sponsor you, especially in the life-death situations. After all, it is a TV show! They have to pretend to make themselves lovable even on the verge of death! Both Katniss's pretension and genuine actions were adored by the ignorant people of the Capitol.
Hunger Games is the first book in the series. If you love this, then you would also love the breathtaking moments in Catching Fire and The Mockingjay!
You should watch the movie, too. I highly recommend it. It lives up to my expectations!

Top 3: Left Behind

Left Behind is the first book in the "Left Behind Series" by Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins. It tackles about the fight between believers and the Anti-Christs during Earth's last days, which according to the Bible, begins with the rapture followed by the 7-year Tribulation.
Left Behind shares the journey of how and why Rayford Steele, the main protagonist, turned into a firm believer of God. From a man who almost cheated on his wife, to a man who repented and surrendered his life to the One Creator.
The first chapter of this book immediately captured me. There is no escape. When you read it, you can't stop reading for more. Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins surely created a masterpiece which sold millions and millions of copies all over the world. Not to mention the other 15 books that were also bestsellers around the globe. If you want to have a good read that would shake your mind (and strengthen spirituality), this is definitely one of the bests.
Again, Left Behind is the first book in the 16-book series. When you start it, there is no way you'll stop searching for the others.
Top 2: To Kill a Mockingbird

How good is it? I say, this book is widely used to teach students about courage, compassion, gender roles, and other prejudice. It was not initially intended for academic purposes, but this novel gave a huge impact that is worth shaking the education sector.
Even Mary McDonough Murphy, an author who collected reactions about this novel, said that this novel is "an astonishing phenomenon."
Top 1: Les Misérables

Les Misérables is a French historical fiction. It was first published in 1862 and considered one of the best novels during the 19th century. Just imagine how long it has been but the legacy of this book still lives in our time.
The protagonist in Les Misérables is named Jean Valjean, an ex-convict who was imprisoned for 19 years because of stealing a loaf of bread. Aside from Valjean, there are other characters with significant roles in the story.
Action, misery, romance, humor, suspense, and drama. Everything is here. This is a must-must read! This book has a great impact on me. I still can't move on so I try to search more about it. I'm a big fan of the book, the characters, the musical plays, concerts, the cast and a lot more.
The story revolves in the ups and downs of the characters. I really liked how natural the scenes progresses. Although the story happened for years, I did not feel that it was rushed. Everything was in perfect pacing and the author successfully relayed the emotions of the characters.
